Neil Foden (Ysgol Friars and Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen)
Neil Foden was a teacher at Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen from the late 1970s until he joined Ysgol Friars in 1989 as a Deputy Head. In 1997 he was promoted to Headmaster.
In September 2023 Foden was arrested on suspicion of child sex offences. At Mold Crown Court in May 2024, he was found guilty of 19 charges of sexual abuse against 4 girls. The offences spanned a 4 year period from 2019 to 2023. In July 2024 he was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment.
Foden was also found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct in 2020 after the Education Workforce Council panel heard allegations against him from three members of staff between April 2014 and October 2016.
Andrew Grove & Co. act for 9 former pupils of Ysgol Friars and Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen who have made complaints of sexual, physical and emotional abuse against Mr Foden.
Solicitor Katherine Yates is appealing for anyone who suffered emotional, psychological, physical or sexual abuse at Foden’s hands to get in touch.
“Foden exploited his position at the school and victimised both staff and pupils, so whether you were abused by him or have information that might be useful to our investigation, please come forward. We’re offering our support to anyone that suffered abuse from Foden in any capacity.”
